Mark your calendars for Friday, June 27, from 6 PM – 9 PM as Cutters Cigar Emporium will be introducing Oscar Rodriguez, the CEO of GTO Dominican Cigars. Oscar will be on hand to introduce his unique boutique cigar blends from the Dominican Republic. Oscar is a third generation tobacco grower from the Dominican Republic, now splitting his time between Santiago and Alabama. Oscar created the GTO line three years ago to showcase the wonderful Cuban-seed tobacco grown on the family farms for more than 90 years. GTO controls every step of the cigar manufacturing process, from the planting of seeds in the fertile soil of the Valle de Cibao region of the Dominican Republic; to selecting, growing and cultivating the tobacco plants; to the fermentation and aging of the tobacco leaves. GTO produces exquisitely made premium cigars in small batches, the blends created by Oscar himself.
Oscar will be revealing his two most recent cigar creations – the Pain Killer and, Mandinga (named after a small down in the Dominican Republic). The Pain Killer blend consists of a filler of Dominican ligero, a binder of Dominican grown Cuban seed and an aged maduro Dominican wrapper. It is a full bodied cigar. The Mandinga offers a triple ligero filler, Dominican Cuban seed binder and aged Dominican maduro. It is also a full bodied cigar. GTO is also one of the few cigar manufacturers that create the doble capas (two wrappers), also referred to as the barber pole cigar. These unique cigars offer an intertwined wrapper of aged Connecticut shade and Dominican maduro to create not only a unique look, but also a unique flavor profile.
